About Roland Unruh
Grew up in Pacific Grove, Ca. from 1956 on. Born in Oldenburg Germany in1946, moved to USA in 1956. BA in photojournalism 1969 San Jose State. Photographed Tommy Smith and John Carlos on their return to the US after doing their black power salute at the 68 Olympics in Mexico City. Documented the infamous Altamont Rolling Stones Concert policed by the Hells Angels on 12-6-69. Back and forth to Stockholm Sweden to see my ex and kids. Remarried in 1978 and moved to Miami, FL where I was a commercial photographer for ten years. Started out documenting art for Lowe Art Museum, Bass Museum, Metropolitan Museum, and various galleries and artists with 4by5 and 35 mm film. Coming home to my house on Biscayne Bay one sunny day I saw an amateur...
